Core - DevExpress.ExpressApp.CloneObject.Xpo assembly and NuGet package have been renamed

What Changed:

  1. We renamed the DevExpress.ExpressApp.CloneObject.Xpo assembly and NuGet package to DevExpress.ExpressApp.CloneObject (.NET and .NET Framework)
  2. We renamed localization packages associated with the package above. For example, DevExpress.ExpressApp.CloneObject.Xpo.es is now DevExpress.ExpressApp.CloneObject.es
  3. We renamed the .AddCloningXpo() Application Builder extension method to .AddCloning() (.NET only)

Reasons for Change

For v25.1, we added support for the Clone Object Module for EF Core. The DevExpress.ExpressApp.CloneObject assembly now contains ORM-independent implementation for all XAF application types.

Impact on Existing Apps

These changes do not affect the majority of XAF users, because all types retain their original namespaces. This change may affect your application if you are building a complex framework that relies on full assembly names (for example, if you have Assembly.Load(fullDevExpressAssemblyName)) in your code.

How to Update Existing Apps

Run the Project Converter tool (v25.1+) to automatically update NuGet package names and application code.

NOTE: You may have specified package names in *.props or CI/CD configuration files (for example, Directory.Build.props). In such instances, update these package references manually. Contact us if you require additional assistance.
