The update is not offered in VisualStudio's extensions dialog and the VSIX says there are no supported instances of VS. Using the .exe installer works.
This is my personal PC. Earlier at work, using VS 2017 and VS 2019 Enterprise, I got notified by VS to upgrade.
VS 2019 Community version 16.1.0 preview 3
Jorge,
Thank you for the report. I am happy to hear that the .exe installer works well.
The Vsix installer is provided by VisualStudio and I think we might need to adjust supported versions in the vsix manifest in order to support VisualStudio version 16.1.
However, we need to research this. Please give us some time to reproduce this issue locally and correct it.
Jorge,
I have reproduced this issue with the latest VisualStudio 16.1 preview version.
Please give us some time to fix it.
For now it doesn't block me but once 16.1 gets released the problem will be more widespread.
Thanks for looking into it.
I want to try the Trial version but it only offers me the VSIX. Is there a link to the .exe for the trial version?
Hello Jerrie,
To process your inquiry more efficiently, I've moved it to a separate thread:
Is there a link to the .exe for the trial version?
Let's continue discussing this problem there.

Workaround was to download the .exe installer
Forgot to specify that I'm referring to "DevExpress.CodeRush-19.2.6.vsix"
Hi Eamon,
Thank you for reaching out to us. To avoid discussing multiple issues in the same thread, I've created a separate ticket on your behalf (T849581: Installation - The CodeRush 19.2.6 vsix package is not installed in Visual Studio Enterprise 2019 ). It has been placed in our processing queue and will be answered shortly.
