Navigation - The selected line is not highlighted after clicking a reference in the References window

created 7 years ago

After clicking on a reference in the the References window, it is difficult to see which line the reference is on, particularly if there is more than one reference on the page.

Although clicking on the reference goes to the relevant line, the line is not highlighted as it is when clicking on a result is the Visual Studio Find All Reference window or the Find Results window.

This is probably because line is not activated e.g. the cursor position is not set. Can it be updated to set the cursor?

    Dave,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I think you are right. It seems that the References window does not set the editor caret on double-clicking a reference.
Please give us some time to find a solution to this issue.

Meanwhile, do you know the name of the style for the highlighted reference word is under Fonts and Colors?

          Dave, you are always welcome!

To set the style of the highlighted reference, do the following:

          1. Open the Visual Studio options dialog (the "Tools | Options" menu).
          2. In the tree list at the left side of this dialog, select the Environment | Fonts and Colors item.
          3. Within the "Display items" list box, select the "Highlighted  References" item.
          4. Set up the highlighted reference appearance with the corresponding editors on this option page.
          5. Click the "OK" button to close the dialog and save the changes.
