Do I understand it correctly that you are experiencing slowdowns while typing? In this case, I suggest that you disable Spell Checker and Naming Assistant, and see if the slowdowns still occur. For this do the following:

My apologies, the screencast was not quite as good as it should have been.
No the problem is more specifically this. I was trying to type the following in the string section to set the value of the field…
"Relates to the following invoice payment id's"
What I had hoped the screencast would show (but didn't) was that as soo as I pressed the spacebar after the o in to it inserted object instead. I wouldn't have thought that that should be happening when defing a string for a field of type string.

Thank you for the explanation. Such behavior can be related to the template expanding, however I cannot reproduce it on my side with the default settings. Can you share your settings so we can try to reproduce it? You can use the CodeRush\Support\Settings Folder command to go to the settings location.

I have tried to reproduce the issue using your settings but failed. Please try to disable IntelliRush and Naming Assistant to see if the issue is connected to these features:
2. Go to the CodeRush Options => Editor\All Languages\Auto Completion (IntelliRush) options page and disable the 'Enable IntelliRush' option.
If this doesn't help, try to disable CRR in Extension Manager to make sure this behavior is related to CodeRush for Roslyn.

Done…problem sorted! Unfortunately I'm rather fond of Code Rush so this doesn't seem to be quite the optimal solution!!

Thank you for the update. While we still can't reproduce the issue on our side, it's clear that it's related to one of the CodeRush features. Based on the previous information, the issue relates to unwanted template expansion.

Disabling the space bar expansion for templates appears to be the only way to stop this from happing , however that is by far and away my favoured method for expanding templates.
Happy for you to remote into the machine if you think that that might help.
