Organize Members - Improve editing a rule that is surrounded by a region

created 9 years ago

Greetings.

In the CRR Organize Members editor, once I have a rule surrounded by a region, I can no longer delete just the region - if I delete the region, it takes the rule with it. A bit destructive, I should think.

Also, currently it seems to not be possible to add two or more rules as children under a region; one rule-to-one region currently. Might that change in the future?

Thanks,

    Hi Robert,

We agree with you that in both these cases this behavior of the Organize Member editor will be more expected. We will improve it in the future.

We have fixed the issue described in this ticket and will include the fix in our next maintenance update. To apply this solution before the official update, request a hotfix by clicking the corresponding link for product versions you require.

Note: Hotfixes may be unavailable for beta versions and updates that are about to be released.

    Additional information:

    Robert,
We have added the capability to add more than one rule to the region. Also, when you are deleting a region, a message box will be shown and you can choose whether to delete nested rules with the region or delete just the region and move nested rules to the upper level.

        Greetings.

I have the hotfix and while editing the Member Organization rules has improved, I'm unable to test the results; if I select Organize Members the CodeCleanUpProvider fails.

Is there logging or other info with which I can provide you?

          Hello Robert,

I've created a separate ticket on your behalf (CodeRush for Roslyn - CodeCleanUpProvider fails with a hint). It has been placed in our processing queue and will be answered shortly.
