Settings on the Organize Members option page are not saved correctly

created 2 years ago

Hello,

I installed latest VS, CR. Reverted everything to default settings.

In CR, Organize Members I made new rule set, filled it how I wanted, saved it, but it didn't worked as expected. I went back to options to check what's wrong but all my rules were gone except one. No sign of them in xml file either. That's pretty annoying given how much time I've spent on it.

Now I've encountered many times when rules were messed up - out of order after saving, but never they were gone. I have no idea how to replicate this issue - it appears to be random. The second time I tried it saved but two rules swapped their places. I corrected it, saved and rules swapped again - see the screenshot. Sometime it saves as expected but often takes trials.

    Simon,

    Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce this behavior. Right now, I can only advise you to save your work on this option page more often, so that you won't loose all of your work when you encounter this issue again. Also, please send us the CodeRush logs. We will investigate if there are some exceptions related to this issue:

    • Click the "Extensions->CodeRush->Support->CodeRush Logs…" menu item;
    • Zip the entire folder and attach the archive here.

    I look forward to hearing from you.

      Hello,

      I do apply options few times just in case. That's the first time I lost my settings, but the rules getting out of order happens all the time. I can any time create rules, shuffle and name them correspondingly. I'm pretty sure they will save without order. Like on attached screenshots.

      // Edit: Just now I checked some checkboxes in Quick Setup, pressed Ok, and after coming back to Options they were not checked. There's clearly something wrong.

        Simon,

        While I still cannot reproduce the data loss, I was able to reproduce incorrect ordering of rules. We will investigate this issue promptly and update this thread once we have more information to share.
