How to convert from assembly references to NuGet references

created 6 years ago

Cross posted to Stack Overflow

In VS2017 I created a new Winforms project using the XAF Solutions Wizard ( Entity Framework Code - First)
Now I want to change all the packages to use my Nuget Feed for the Dev Express References.
XAF does have Nuget packages
Is there a Nuget command that I can use to do this automatically?

Hello Kirsten,

Currently, we don't have a tool to convert assembly references to NuGet references automatically.
It should not be difficult to migrate a XAF application to NuGet, however. We organized the NuGet packages for XAF as metapackages. So it should be enough to install them as described in the XAF Nuget packages article.
If you still see any unresolved references, you can search by an assembly name at nuget.devexpress.com and get a list of the packages with this assembly. For example, https://nuget.devexpress.com/packages?q=devexpress.printing.

      Thanks Helen
I have done this in the past and it took me quite some time.
It would be wonderful if there was an option to use Nuget packages in the Wizard.

I second this, would be great if the project updater could look at references and add NuGet config lines and then perform restore to do the update instead.
