What happens when the trial period is expired?

created 10 years ago

Hi there,

I'm now using the trial version of your product. I would like to know after the trial period is expired, what will happen?
Will it prompt my user to purchase developer express or it will only prompt the developer?
Or it does nothing but limit the tools functionality?

I would like to know if the same licensing rule apply the same on both winform and asp.net…

Thanks

Hi Jasper,

When your trial period is over, our controls stop rendering their content. In addition, a DevExpress Trial Expired dialog is displayed when your applications are running. In order to continue to use our controls, you must purchase a license. DevExpress offers a 60-day no-questions-asked money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with our tools for any reason, you can request a refund within your first 60 days of ownership.

In the meantime, I need to emphasize that the DevExpress End-User License Agreement grants you one month for evaluation purposes, and not for creating applications and delivering them to your end-users. I've attached a quote from the EULA below. Should you need any further clarification on this subject, feel free to contact our Client Services team directly at ClientServices@devexpress.com.

      Hi Jasper,
To process your recent post more efficiently, I created a separate ticket on your behalf: T294344: Licenses for end-users of my software. It is currently in our processing queue. Please bear with us.

Hi there… Are there anyway for me to extend my trial period? And I need an offline installer as well =)

          Hi Jasper,
As you probably already know, we released the new major version, 15.2, for our .NET and HTML5/JS products yesterday. If you subscribe to the trial version of the new release at http://www.devexpress.com/Home/Try.xml, you can start a new one-month evaluation. We always encourage everyone to try the latest available version. If you'd like to continue using the previous major version, 15.1, please let me know.
A complete list of new features in v15.2 is available at https://www.devexpress.com/Subscriptions/New-2015.xml. To learn how to upgrade your existing projects to version 15.2, refer to the following documentation article: Upgrade Notes.
I look forward to hearing from you.
