Layout Control - Cannot copy/paste layout control

created 10 years ago

[DevExpress Support Team: CLONED FROM T184688: The function copy / paste stops working when in the form there is a LayoutControl]
It has not solved the problem.
I add project with 13.2 version, which works correctly.
Select Form1 and xtraTabPage1, layoutcontrol1, edit, copy.
To the right of layoutcontrol1, edit and paste.
Select xtraTabPage2, edit and paste
Go to Form2, edit and paste.
It works correctly
Change the Assembly version to 14.2 or 14.2.14345 and follow the same steps.

Works only the first step.
Others fail.

      Hello Peter,
OK, I agree that the old behavior is more user-friendly and I have created a separate LayoutControl - Cannot paste a control when LayoutItem is selected ticket on your behalf. I've passed it to our developers for further research.
As for the 'undo' issue, it can be explained as well. Layout Control has its own copy/paste mechanism that differs from the standard one. When you copy and paste an item, several actions are performed - you can also see it in the attached video. They can be undone, but you need to click the Undo button several times.
Anyway, this behavior needs more detailed investigation. I've created a ticket for this issue: LayoutControl - Extra actions are shown in the drop-down Undo window.
We will inform you in those threads of our results.

Thanks for your wishes. Merry Christmas, Peter ;)

        Hi Sasha
You keep working on this case so I have to reply before preparing Christmas dinner :-)
Thanks for the 2 new tickets.
Yes the undo problem is that it isn't standard. ONE paste has to be completely reversed with ONE undo in the Edit menu. We can't guess how many times we have to undo, before the button in your example is gone. And partial undo can make the layout control unstable.

Yes, I've noticed the same behavior. We will research it in the context of the LayoutControl - Extra actions are shown in the drop-down Undo window ticket and inform you of our results.
          Please stay tuned.
