Implement TreeList Control in Windows 8 XAML

Support for hierarchical data presentation in Win8 XAML Grid

created 10 years ago (modified 10 years ago)

HI DevExpress,

How do I implement the behaviour like in this example: https://www.devexpress.com/Support/Center/Example/Details/E3215, but now for the Windows8 XAML version of the Grid. But I do not see any properties to set the KeyField and the ParentField in XAML Grid.

I cannot find much examples or documentation about Windows8 XAML yet…

Hopefully you can help me to achieve the presentation of hierarchical data in the XAML Grid

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,
At this time, we don't provide the TreeList control for Win8 XAML. Please add Implement TreeList Control in Windows 8 XAML to your favorites to be automatically notified of our progress.

      Thanks Alexander for this reply.
It is a pity that DevExpress is really getting behind therir competitors on the WinRT XAML controlset. NO Scheduler, NO TreeView, NO OrgChart…
It sounds like we have to seriously consider other vendors. Pity.
      Best regards,
      Peter

        Hello Peter,
I understand your frustration and completely agree that these controls make sense in the Windows 8 XAML suite. However, I can't guarantee that all these controls will be implemented in the near future. The point is that development of Windows 8 XAML controls fully depends on a situation in the WinRT market: on WinRT technology popularity and dynamics of its development. Perhaps, we will reconsider our position regarding Windows 8 XAML suite development (the TreeView, Scheduler, and OrgChart controls implementation in particular).
I would also like to remind you that you can request a refund by writing to ClientServices@devexpress.com within the first 60 days of ownership if you are not satisfied with the capabilities of our product.

        Best regards,
        Michael
