Layout.Web - Display collection properties in the edit mode by default (CollectionsEditMode = Edit)

created 12 years ago (modified 11 years ago)

This difference between the WinForms and Web UI is often confusing for XAF developers. Refer to the Q483280 ticket for a canonical example.

We have implemented the functionality described in this ticket. It will be included in our next update(s).

Please check back and leave a comment to this response to let us know whether or not this solution addresses your concerns.

Additional information:

The CollectionsEditMode default valuefor a new project created via the XAF Solution Wizard is Edit. You can always customize this behavior as per eXpressApp Framework > Task-Based Help > How to: Hide Collection Properties in an Edit Mode Detail View for an ASP.NET Application?. Existing projects are not affected by this customization and will continue to work as before.

This option is set in the new project templates and is already available in the Beta version. You can adjust this option yourself right away as per the help link above without waiting for the Beta.
