XE2: Delphi VCL components not appearing in component palette

created 12 years ago

I installed DevExpress on RAD Studio XE2 (registered version, see screenshot about.png in attached zip file).

In the component palette, I cannot find any of the DevExpress components. However, the DevExpress locations were added to the library paths.

I uninstalled DevExpress before installing XE2. I also have RAD Studio 2010 installed (and would like to keep it). In the DevExpress installer, I selected both 2010 and XE2. I tried it a second time, only selecting XE2, without success.

I looked for similar questions and found Q367590, but it didn't help me any further.

In the attached zip file, you also find DXSupportReport.zip which contains the UserInfoBuilder report .

Hello,
As you probably know, the Express Install uses a command-line compiler (bcc32.exe) to create libraries for our components. And, it seems that your issue is caused by the fact that the dcc32.exe command line compiler is not functional in your XE2 installation. I see that its size is about 23 kB, but should be much larger. Perhaps your IDE version is corrupted (in this case, I suggest you reinstall IDE).
Anyway, it may be possible to overcome this issue using the manual packages compilation, as demonstrated in the Setup doesn't create libraries for Delphi 2007 Enterprise Trial Version thread. I hope that this information will help you install our controls.

      Hi,
      Thanks for your quick reaction.
I reinstalled the IDE but had the same problem. I installed it using the AppWave browser: Delphi® XE2 (Update 4) (Migration named_205374.slip).
Four of my collegues also used this version and did not ecounter the problem. I just copied over the dcc32.exe, dcc64.exe and dccosc.exe from one of my colleagues and reinstalled DevExpress. I can now see and use all components in the component palette.
I don't think this is the ideal solution but it seems to be working now.
