We have implemented the functionality described in this ticket. It will be included in our next update(s).

Additional information:

With VCL 13.1, you can set the new OptionsView.ColumnAutoWidth property to True in order to automatically widen groups to fit the editor width and arrange group items across a specified number of columns.
