An error occurs when opening a Form containing the XtraRichEdit control after rebuilding the project in Design mode

created 16 years ago

Hi!
I am testing the XtraRichEdit with special attention because I need it for a program I am currently developing.
I created a test project with a very simple XtraForm, with a copy of the controls supplied in the sample code.
Just after building the solution, if I switch to the design view in the VS 2008 IDE, the form controls disappear. When the VS looses focus, an error message is shown.
The attached file contains the project and a video showing the problem.
I would also like to emphasize some suggestions already submitted for this control. It would be of very little use if one cannot access its Text and RTF contents programmatically. It would be also necessary to allow selection of all or part of its contents programmatically. Both of these features as a must and could work just like the Microsoft counterpart control.
Regards,
Eduardo Quintana
PS: I use Windows Vista 64 Ultimate Edition and Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition.

      Hello Eduardo,
Thanks for the report. I see the problem.
I believe it's better to move this thread to the Bugs section. Our developers will do their best to identify this problem and provide you with a solution.
In the meantime, you can simply re-open the Form Design mode and continue working on your project.

Also, note that we've already registered a suggestion regarding the capability to modify the RTF content programmatically. If you find this feature useful, track the corresponding suggestion here: Add the capability to modify the RTF content programmatically.
      Thank you,
      Alex.
