The OnPopup event erroneously fires for TPopupMenu linked to TcxGridPopupMenu when pressing a shortcut of an action associated with a TPopupMenu item

created 12 years ago

Dear suport team,

please have a look at the attached project. Pressing F7 fires PopupMenu1.OnPopup before firing Action1.OnExecute. Is this intended? This effect doesn't show with F8/Action2/PopupMenu2 which aren't linked to cxGridPopupMenu1.

Best regards,
Uli.

      Hello,
Thank you for your detailed description. I have reproduced this behavior, and it looks strange (maybe even incorrect). I have forwarded this ticket to our developers for further research.

We have fixed the issue described in this ticket and will include the fix in our next maintenance update. To apply this solution before the official update, request a hotfix by clicking the corresponding link for product versions you require.

Note: Hotfixes may be unavailable for beta versions and updates that are about to be released.

      Additional information:

We found that changing the behavior described in this ticket breaks the normal behavior of TcxGrid (e.g., see the The Enter keystroke is incorrectly handled by the currently active grid View if the form contains the default button thread). Thus, we decided to roll back changes we applied here. Moreover, the standard TPopupMenu control linked to the TDBGrid control seems to behave in a similar way (after calling a popup menu at least once), so I do not think that it was absolutely correct to change the OnPopup event behavior.
