Hello, from the v2011 till the last build (v2012 2.4) there's a bug in the visualization of some calculated members of my OLAP cube. With the old version (build 59) the issue didn't occured.
Here's the problem:
I want to compare the revenue by month on three different years.I've got a regular measure "Importo" (revenue) and i've created two calculated measures ("Importo 1AP", "Importo 2AP") which give me the "Importo" value of the past 2 years depending on time attribute that is placed on the PivotGrid.
eg.: If we are in february 2013, "Importo" returns the value of current month, "Importo 1AP" returns the value of february 2012 and "Importo 2AP" returns the value of february 2011.
Clearly we shouldn't see no value for the next months of the 2013 in the PivotGrid.Well… With the last version of it, we can! Unfortunately it's a bug.The values are all messed up in the cells.
I've attached a printscreen of the two version of PVG and SQL Management Studio for better explanation of the bug, the back up of the OLAP DB for you to test on it and the MDX queries launched by the PVG v59 and v2012 2.4 (intercepted with the Query Analyzer).
I'm wainting for a solution ASAP.
Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for the inquiry. We are reviewing it, and will respond as soon as we can. Should you have any additional information, please feel free to update this report.
I've downloaded and built the last release of PivotGrid (2012 2.5) but the problem still remains.
When I add to the grid a calculated measure the values are still messed up in all the cells (not only total ones - see the attached image).
Seems that nothing has changed. Maybe I am missing something…
I would appreciate if you could provide me a proof of the solution of this issue because I'm not seeing it.
thanks
Hello,
The issue seems to be fixed in VCL 12.2.5. At least, our tests confirm this. I have attached two screenshots to this message:
Screenshot1 - the test application based on your cube in VCL 12.2.4;
Screenshot2 - the same application in VCL 12.2.5 -> as you can see, the behavior is corrected.
I suggest you reinstall our controls from scratch as it is demonstrated in the TcxPivotGridChartConnection not installed ticket. This may help if some packages are erroneously taken from the previous version.
I am looking forward to your feedback once you have had the opportunity to try this solution.
A follow-up to my previous message:
I apologize for the inconvenience. I misunderstood the result of our developers' test. The screenshots I provided in my previous comment are related to VCL 12.2.5. They just demonstrate the same layout you showed in your comment. Anyway, I suggest you try the solution I referred to above.
Hi Paolo,
thank you very much for your answer! The problem was exactly what you pointed me to.
Even building package by package manually, I had to reinstall all the DevX comps trough the setup installer to get it work.
thank you again.
regards.
Thank you for informing us that the problem is now resolved. I am glad to hear that you have found our assistance helpful.
