FindDataCellTemplateControl fails if the node's key field value contains a dollar sign

FindDataCellTemplateControl fails if the node's key field value contains a dollar sign.
In the snippet below, lnk is null if e.NodeKey contains a dollar.
protected void ASPxTreeList1_HtmlRowPrepared(object sender, DevExpress.Web.ASPxTreeList.TreeListHtmlRowEventArgs e)
        {
            if (e.RowKind != DevExpress.Web.ASPxTreeList.TreeListRowKind.Data)
                return;
            ASPxHyperLink lnk = ASPxTreeList1.FindDataCellTemplateControl(e.NodeKey, null, "ASPxHyperLink1") as ASPxHyperLink;
            if (lnk != null)
            {
                lnk.Text = "Found";
                lnk.NavigateUrl = "http://www.google.com";
            }
        }
