Restrict number of rows per "page"

created 17 years ago

Our users have to compare written transcripts of data against the same data on the computer, on screen. Our audit logs have 14 lines per page and summaries per page that have to be compared with that on screen. The embedded navigator has a "next/previous PAGE" button yet I don't see anywhere to restrict the number of rows "per page." The ability to set a number of rows per page would allow us to handle these paper vs. on screen audits.
Please consider the option to implement paging like that on web grids. This functionality will give us more control over the data presentation such as I described above.
Thank you.

    Hello Neal,
Thank you for the request. However, we are not planning to introduce this functionality in the future because, in our opinion this is this is not general behavior and it will be used in rare cases only. From, my point of view this behavior contradicts with a common data representation concepts in Windows Forms application. However, you can introduce the required functionality yourself by introducing some data layer that will retrieve only a necessary number of records at once. This should be some object that implements the IList interface and takes the original data source from the parameter. This object should be used as a grid's data source and retrieve only the necessary number of rows from the original data source. As a possible solution you can use our XPO's Pageable Collections to introduce this functionality.
    Thanks,
    Stan.
