I wonder what's the state of the 'multiple browser tabs' requirement when using XAF Webapps? This requirement is rather old (B221002 and S19224) but there is still no solution.
In B221002 Dennis said that it is just not possible (2 year ago) but the last comment in S19224 from Marco Kummer says it is working with cookieless sessions. Unfortunately there is no comment/reaction from DevExpress.
Although I don't like the cookieless sessions approach (see cookieless-session-considered-dangerous) it is better than nothing. And my customer really needs multiple browser tabs.
So what's your opinion? Maybe you could add a KB article demonstrating the usage for a standard XAF app together with Forms Authentication?!?
Thanks!
We have closed this ticket because another page addresses its subject:
Web - How to open any hyperlink in a new or tabbed browser window and continue working with the opened application View independentlyState of 'multiple browser tabs' requirement?

Hi.
This scenario is not supported in the current version and I cannot provide you with an estimate on when it will be supported.

I am afraid I do not understand what you mean by that. XAF Web applications already use Forms Authentication by default.
Thank you for your feedback. A workaround mentioned in ticket S19224 was provided not by DevExpress. We have not tested it, so I cannot say if it is a reliable solution and whether it works or not.
How about testing it?
Come on, this is ridiculous! The requirement is 6 years old, DevExpress has no idea how to implement it (or no motivation), someone came up with a workaround and all you say is: "This is not our problem." ???
I like your products but it seems like your are not really interested in maintaining the XAF Web stuff. I think quite a lot of people could benefit from this workaround…
Hi Andre.
Thank you for your feedback. We have a lot of valuable requests in our wish list. We will consider this one as well, when planning features for the next release, but I cannot promise that it will be implemented soon. I am afraid we cannot allocate resources to thoroughly test the solution Marco provided right now, as this will slow down the implementation of already planned features. If his solution works for you, use it on your own risk, because we cannot support it. If you are experiencing difficulty implementing it, ask the solution author for help by posting a comment to that thread.
